Chapleau Ontario Granite Slab

Granite from Chapleau Ontario studded with natural deposits of Garnet. The stunning waves of rock are a piece of the earth's crust that used to rest 20-30km deep. This granite formed approximately 2.5 billion years ago through Archean volcanic activity and was exposed by years of glacial erosion. Chapleau granite is a window into the ancient continental crust of North America.
